Audio Troubleshooting (Speaker/Microphone)

Audio equipment includes input (speaker) and output (microphone) devices

These appliances can be inbuilt or external, in which case can also be combined into a single device (headset).

In any case, the Test Portal checks both audio features separately into "Your audio quality" section, requiring user action for them.

Test flow

  1. Enter mashme test
  2. Start the test
  3. On "Your audio quality" section, follow the instructions and answer the question/s prompted:
    • Please speak a few words. Can you hear your echo?
      • yes → your audio is correct → test jumps automatically to next section ("Your video quality")

      • no → an issue has been detected → please keep answering:

        • Please speak a few words. Is the meter moving?

          • yes"Your speakers are failing"

            • Ensure your computer volume is turned up

            • The tested device can be changed in the drop-down menu; restart the test

            • If problem persists, it will mean you have Speaker issues

          • no"Your microphone is failing"

            • Ensure the microphone is the correct one

            • The tested device can be changed in the drop-down menu; restart the test

            • If problem persists, it will mean you have Microphone issues
