How to add a virtual background in mashme

mashme.io implemented the option to set a virtual background on version 4.4, released on September 16th 2021:

It is also possible to modify the participant’s background using external applications like Snap Camera.

Take into consideration that this option will consume computer resources.

How to add a virtual background when camera is on

1. Install a 3rd party application in your device
2. Open a mashme compatible browser
3. Change the default camera for that browser in settings, following the article:

   • How do I change my devices (mic & cam)?

4. Enter the mashme room and turn camera on
5. To remove the background, change the default camera back to your built-in or USB camera and refresh browser
