When does the Classroom Streaming video appear on the participant view?
Only when these 3 things happen at the same time:
- The physical classroom has a (physical or virtual) Classroom Camera
- The Classroom Camera is on
- The corresponding Virtual Room is correctly launched
When all these 3 events occur at the same time, the participant view will show three videos (from top to bottom):
- Current Speaker
- Classroom Streaming
- Participant’s Video
Without one of those 3 things, the participant view will only have two video feeds:
- Current Speaker
- Participant’s Video
Use case
- The participant enters a room (which has Classroom Camera) before the cam is on or virtual room is launched:
- participant view will only show 2 boxes with video streams (Current Speaker & Participant’s Video)
- When the camera is on and the virtual room is launched * :
- a 3rd box will appear (between the other 2) for the Classroom Streaming video feed
- If the virtual room is closed before the participant exits it:
- the middle box will then disappear and the other 2 will readjust to occupy all the space
*Note: that particular virtual room must be launched in order for the participant to see the Classroom Streaming;
- if Room A is launched and the participant is in Room B, he won’t have the Classroom Streaming box!
Further info
For rooms that don’t have Classroom Camera (Delegates or some RoFs):
- the box for Classroom Streaming will never show
- the other 2 videos (Current Speaker & Participant’s) will take up all the space assigned to the video feeds
Classroom Streaming doesn’t show in participant view (and it should) → there can be 2 main reasons:
- Classroom Camera isn't working right → turn it off & on again
- Virtual Room has not launched correctly → close & relaunch room
